Winter is approaching us here in Texas and I couldn’t be more excited…it’s my favorite time of the year because of all the family time spent on the upcoming holidays like Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas!! I also feel like I become more social in the winter and with that being said I really want to look and feel my best! I’ve put together all my favorite winter beauty products that I’ll be using throughout these colder months to keep my skin healthy, hydrated and glowing! It’s super important to keep a separate skin care routine for these colder months ahead of us…what typically works in the summer necessarily won’t cut it in the winter burrs’ I hope you learn a lot from this beauty post! Enjoy dolls!!!
I recently had the opportunity as a Nordstrom VIP Member to have an all exclusive beauty consultant educator guide me through my Winter Skin advising routine and honestly, it was one of the best things I’ve ever done it really took all of the guess work out of it and was so educational and fun to learn about how our bodies and skin function on different weather climates. There were a couple of key words that really took to me and that was the word WATER and Hydration… who knew that healthy skin can not only be accomplished with some great hydrating products but it’s what you put inside your body that truly counts and that’s Water !!! My number 1 thing to do this winter is to drink lots of water to really stay hydrated from within! Speaking of water…dolls we all love a scorching hot shower…cause it makes us feel squeaky clean, but come on…if you can bring noodles to a boil your shower water is too hot! And thats how you end up looking like a hot No No! Use lukewarm water instead to shower and wash your face. Hot showers dry out your skin more quickly & if you do not moisturize it immediately, your skin can develop cracks & winter eczema.
The best moisturizer components to look for in your winter Skincare are products that contain Hyaluronic Acid & Ceramides, which plump skin to fight dryness and are great ingredients for acne prone skin to help aid in keeping your skin clean, clear and hydrated and help to avoid stripping your skin of its natural moisture Barrier. Also, natural oils like Almond Oil, Jojoba Oil, Coconut Oil, Sunflower Oil, Calendula Oil, Prickly Pear Seed Oil & Cottonseed Oil are all great ingredients to keep skin healthy and hydrated…But the best ingredients to cure dry skin are Shea butter and Aloe Vera!
Now that we’ve covered the best hydrating skincare components to look for in your products, I really want to focus on the best gentle cleanser’s for your winter skin care routine. It’s best to avoid all foam cleaners’ in the winter… as they can cause irritation and unnecessarily strip good oil’s away from your skin. Go for gel or oil cleansers that will clean your face gently. Also it’s best to exfoliate once a week as it helps in boosting skin regeneration & better product absorption.
Aaaahhh…now that I’ve given you a basic skincare intro it’s time to indulge in the fun stuff! I really wanted to focus on my facial skincare and that’s where I truly chose to splurge a bit…I tried to keep everything as affordable as possible and as conveniently available as possible at drugstores and Nordstrom!
If your anything like me, then you know the struggle is real when it comes to candid photos…you want to know what’s worse than a candid photo… one where your perceived as conceded cause your taking a selfie of yourself ooooohh soooo candidly caught by your brother…and let’s face it I’m the only one who knows my best angles and truly knows what filters to choose…but I really appreciate this photo because it really shows my hair progress and its filter free cause come on boys don’t filter nothing cause they ain’t got time for that! LOL
I’m currently using: Hask Cactus Water Weightless Moisture Shampoo & Conditioner, I’ve never tried Cactus Water based products just because I’ve always been a huge fan of coconut water based products but I’m really loving this product and what sold me on it was that it contained prickly pear seed oil!
You can purchase at: Walgreens for $7 each
Typically I use a hair mask once or twice a week or more especially, If I notice my hair feels a little more dry and coarse or if I have been styling it more frequently I will use a super hydrating hair mask! One of my favorites is the Hi-PRO-Pac Intense Protein Treatment infused with nourishing Shea butter!
You can purchase at: H-E-B for $8
While my conditioner is in my hair I will use the 5 minutes to exfoliate my body now the best routine for winter is to exfoliate once a week and to use a gentle moisturizing exfoliator like Tree Hut Shea Sugar Scrub! I personally love all the scrubs from this line but my all time favorite is the Moroccan Rose scented one!!
You can purchase at: Walmart for $7
If I’m not exfoliating my skin then I will use my Dial Coconut Water Gel Hydrating Body wash.

After showering I will use the Hask Cactus Water 5 in 1 leave in spray conditioner this product is amazing it leaves my hair feeling super light weight, soft, looking shiny and with loads of volume!

For some added moisture because normally I will add heat by blow drying or styling my hair with hot tools… I will also put Garnier whole blends coconut oil & coconut butter leave in conditioner
You can purchase at: Walgreens for $9
Also for some added weightless moisture and shine I will follow up with Maui Moisture Nourishing Coconut Milk
You can purchase at: Walgreens for $7
After showering I immediately follow up with my moisturizer and honestly it’s pretty low key because Gold Bond Ultimate Skin Therapy Lotion truly covers it all with 7 essential moisturizer components! I love how it’s non greasy formulated and that it contains Shea butter and my favorite coconut oil & butter!
You can purchase at: Walgreens for $10
Now for those extra dry areas like elbows, hands, knees, feet and dry patches I love using Farm House Fresh Plum Chiffon All Purpose Shea Butter!! Omgeee this product is bomb no lie it truly is a nice all purpose dry skin cure! I also love using this on my lips, it’s really helped to keep them from chapping!

Moving on to my Facial Winter Skin Routine the area where I was most concerned about because let’s face it.. it’s where our eyes feast and have our first human interaction… I really wanted to keep it simple since I’m somewhat always on the go so I really didn’t have a lot of time to focus on this especially in the mornings which I told my beauty consultant and she was happy to hear that since she recommended that the best time to hydrate your skin is during your sleeping hours at night so she promised to keep it a three step morning process for me for my busier hectic mornings and I couldn’t be happier!!
For the morning I wash my face with Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Cleansing Gel with Hyaluronic Acid
You can purchase at: H-E-B $8
I will also exfoliate my facial skin twice a week and I use Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser.
You can purchase at: H-E-B for $8
After I’m done cleaning my face I will follow up with my Paula’s Choice Omega Complex Serum! This serum is to die for it’s turned into one of my faves! A little goes a long way!
You can purchase at: Nordstrom for $36
After applying my Serum I will seal all of it in with Mario Badescu Herbal Hydrating Serum before applying any makeup… what this does is lock in all of the nourishing moisture and really create a healthy skin barrier to protect and prevent any damage or harmful skin environments I could encounter or experience throughout my busy day!
You can purchase at: Nordstrom for $30
So that’s my Morning Skincare Routine now on to my Night Skincare Routine…so for night I will remove all my makeup and then repeat with my Neutrogena Hydro Boost Face Gel Wash I will then put on a super Hydrating Facial Sheet mask I try to do this twice a week at night and my favorite is the Neutrogena Hydro Boost 100% Hydrogel mask with Hyaluronic acid this is super cooling and relaxing I love to listen to music and just close my eyes for a bit a reflect on my day or just chill and binge watch some of my favorite shows!!
You can purchase at: H-E-B for $4
Then I will apply A super deep nourishing Facial Oil..the one I’m currently using is Indie Lee Facial Oil
You can purchase at: Nordstrom for $32
Then I’ll follow that up with the Mario Badescu Herbal Sealant Serum to really lock in all the Moisture while I catch some 💤💤💤!
